Marcia Gay Harden has joined the cast of “Fifty Shades of Grey,” the upcoming adaptation of E.L. James’ best-selling novel. Harden will play Dr. Grace Trevelyan Grey, the adoptive mother of Christian Grey, Mia Grey and Elliot Grey.
Shooting just began on the project, which Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing from a script by Kelly Marcel that has also had polishing from Patrick Marber and Mark Bomback.

Jamie Dornan is playing entrepreneur Christian Grey while Dakota Johnson plays his amorous companion Anastasia Steele. Luke Grimes is playing Elliot Grey while Rita Ora was just cast as Mia Grey.
Harden just shot Woody Allen’s “Magic in the Moonlight,” and recently starred in HBO’s “The Newsroom” and the JFK drama “Parkland.”
She is represented by UTA, manager Maryellen Mulcahy of Framework Entertainment and attorneys James Adams and Ira Schreck.
