ABC’s ‘Agatha’ Pilot Taps Veteran Director Jace Alexander

ABC’s newly ordered drama pilot, “Agatha,” has found its director. The character-driven procedural is in good hands with veteran helmer Jace Alexander, TheWrap has learned.

Alexander’s extensive list of television directing credits include “Rescue Me,” “Law & Order,” and “The Blacklist.” He has also directed the pilots for “Royal Pains,” “Burn Notice,” and “Warehouse 13,” among other shows.

He has served as an executive producer on “The Blacklist,” “Golden Boy,” “Royal Pains” and “Warehouse 13.”

“Agatha” comes from the Mark Gordon Co. and executive producer Michael McDonald for ABC Studios.

The project follows a former convict turned big city criminologist who is brought in to help local police crack a case involving a perplexing disappearance. The catch is the chief detective she’s been hired to help is her father – and they haven’t spoken in 15 years.

The pilot is in contention for a series pickup with more than a dozen drama pilots at ABC, which has already given series orders to three dramas during the current pilot season.

ICM Partners and Fineman Entertainment represent Alexander.
