Ratings: The Beatles Grammy Anniversary Special Strong Against the Winter Olympics

NBC’s Sochi Games earned gold on Sunday night, while CBS’ tribute to The Beatles took the silver in ratings and viewers.

NBC was first in ratings with a 6.9 rating/18 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, and first in viewers with an average of 25.4 million, according to preliminary numbers. The Winter Olympics was the network’s only primetime programming.

CBS was second in ratings with a 1.7/4 and in viewers with 11.6 million. At 7 p.m., “60 Minutes” got a 1.2/3 — down 40 percent from the last original to a season low — and 9.5 million viewers. At 8, “The Night that Changed America: Grammy Salute to the Beatles” earned a 2.1/5 and 14 million viewers. A rerun followed.

ABC and Fox tied for third in ratings, each with a 1.0/3. ABC was third in viewers with 3.7 million viewers. Fox was fourth with 2.2 million. Both networks aired just reruns.

Univision and Telemundo tied for fifth in ratings, each with a 0.5/1. Univision was fifth in viewers with 1.4 million viewers, Telemundo was sixth with 1.3 million.
