When Frank Underwood is sworn into the office of the Vice Presidency, the stakes on Netflix’s “House of Cards” will rise even higher.
“The road to power is paved with hypocrisy — and casualties,” Underwood (Kevin Spacey) says as he welcomes viewers back to Season 2 in one of three teaser trailers released on Tuesday. ”For those of us climbing to the top of the food chain, there can be no mercy.”
In a second brief teaser, “Francis & Claire,” actress Robin Wright shows that she takes a backseat to no man, particularly her conniving husband. Though together, the damage they can inflict is extraordinary.

In the third promo, “Political,” mistakes are made, suffering is dished out, and the new V.P. comes “just shy” of committing treason, an accuser points out.
“Just shy, which is politics,” Underwood retorts. Just another day on the Hill.
“House of Cards” Season 2 drops in its entirety on Friday, exclusively on Netflix — Happy Valentine’s Day!
