It still remains to be seen who the big winners at the Winter Olympics in Sochi will be, but in the ratings competition “The Walking Dead” has just scored a second gold medal.
AMC’s zombie drama was the top show across all broadcast and cable networks among the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, topping the Olympics for the second week in a row and also besting the NBC All-Star Game.

Though down from last Sunday’s midseason premiere, Sunday’s episode of “The Walking Dead” at 9 p.m. drew 8.7 million viewers in the demo, scoring a 6.8 national rating in the demo, versus the 5.6 rating that the Olympics on NBC drew during that hour.
In total viewers, Sunday’s episode amassed 13.3 million — though that was much lower than the 23 million total viewers that the Olympics averaged during the two broadcasts’ common hour.

The companion series “Talking Dead” at 10 p.m. drew 4.8 million total viewers with 3.1 million of them in the demo.
