Bravo is officially in the scripted game, giving a series order to “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.”

The series, for which “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Glee” producer Marti Noxon wrote the pilot, is based on Vicki Iovine’s “Girlfriends’ Guide…” book series.

The series will follow Abby (played by “House” alum Lisa Edelstein), the author of a self-help book series who’s hiding her separation from her husband from the public. Starting her life over again as a single woman in her 40s, she finds that advice from divorced friends leads to startling new adventures. Universal Cable Productions is producing.

Janeane Garofalo, Beau Garrett and Paul Adelstein also star, with Carrie Fisher making a cameo.

Noxon (pictured) is also executive producing, along with Iovine, Dawn Olmstead, Meryl Poster and Adam Brooks, who directed the pilot.

Bravo’s previous efforts to expand into unscripted territory include the comedy pilot “Rita,” which would have starred “Breaking Bad” alum Anna Gunn, and “The Joneses,” which was shelved last March.

“Everybody knows this was all an elaborate scheme to get myself on ‘Watch What Happens Live!,’” Noxon cracked. “Seriously, I can’t thank everyone enough at Bravo and Universal Cable Productions for making Girlfriends’ something special.  I am confident that Lisa is going to be TV’s next girl crush; she’s certainly mine.”

Noxon also recently landed a series order at Lifetime for the dark comedy “Un-Real,” about the chaos surrounding the production of a dating competition program.

Deadline first reported the “Girlfriends’ Guide” series pickup.
