Bill Murray went off-script while handing out the Academy Award for “Achievement in Cinematography” on Sunday to remember his old collaborator, the late Harold Ramis.
After rattling off names of the actual nominees for Achievement in Cinematography, Murray turned to camera, saying, “Oh, we forgot one: Harold Ramis for ‘Caddyshack,’ ‘Ghostbusters’ and ‘Groundhog Day.’”
The two worked together on those films, but had a long falling out on “Groundhog Day.”

Co-presenter Amy Adams was on-board with the improv moment, smiling widely and applauding feverishly — the Dolby Theater audience followed suit.
Ramis was later remembered in the annual “In Memoriam” segment.
Emmanuel Lubezki, an actual nominee, eventually won the award for “Gravity.”

Ramis died last month of complications from auto-immune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that causes swelling of the blood vessels.
Harold and Ramis sparred while shooting “Groundhog Day,” which Murray wanted to be more philosophical, while Ramis leaned punchier.
