Cameron Diaz gave her fans the first look at her in costume as Miss Hannigan last year, and a new teaser for the first “Annie” trailer lets them see her in action.

In between shots of 10-year-old star Quvenzhané Wallis singing “Tomorrow” while playing the little orphan that began enchanting audiences before the Great Depression in Harold Gray's comic strip, there are a few glimpses of Diaz trying really hard to be mean to children and co-star Jamie Foxx.
Whether or not she can pull the performance off remains to be seen. Maybe she'll appear a little more convincing as an angry alcoholic when the full trailer lands online later today.
“Annie,” directed by Will Gluck, hits theaters on Dec. 19.
