Fandango has added five new exhibition chains to its online movie ticket offerings, the company said Wednesday.

Malco Theatres, Frank Theatres, Goodrich Quality Theaters, NCG Cinemas and Paragon Theaters have joined the fold, adding more than 1,000 screens in 12 states to Fandango's roster. It now sells tickets via online and mobile for 23,000 U.S. screens and 83 percent of the nation's theaters.

The new deals follow Fandango's recent extension of its exclusive multiyear agreement with Cinemark, representing more than 4,400 U.S. screens. And on Tuesday, the company announced a partnership with Vista, to offer the cinema management software Veezi to thousands of independent movie theaters so that they can come online.

“We are thrilled to work with our new exhibitors to help them reach even more moviegoers through our online and mobile ticketing platforms, and ultimately grow their businesses,” said Fandango President Paul Yanover.

The new circuits, many with historic footprints, have a solid geographic reach across the country:

  • Malco Theatres – a fourth-generation family-owned-and-operated business with its first screen dating back to 1915, Malco has 32 locations across Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Arkansas and Kentucky;
  • Frank Theatres – in operation since 1921, this family-owned entertainment group manages screens in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia and Florida;
  • Goodrich Quality Theaters – with its first screen dating back to 1930, Goodrich has screens in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri;
  • NCG Cinemas – the Neighborhood Cinema Group (NCG) operates theaters in Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee, Illinois, and Georgia;
  • Paragon Theaters – specializes in luxury theaters in Florida, Minnesota and Virginia.

Fandango also reported that so far in 2014, it has sold an average of 47 percent of its total movie tickets on mobile devices, and has surpassed 40 million downloads of its apps.
