Showtime's “House of Lies” and “Shameless” ended their seasons with strong numbers on Sunday night, despite a competitive schedule that included the series premieres of AMC's “Turn” and HBO's “Silicon Valley,” as well as the season premieres of HBO's “Game of Thrones” and “Veep.”
The Season 4 finale of “Shameless” drew 1.93 million total viewers with its initial 9 p.m. airing, and 2.83 million total viewers overall for the night — the latter of which made for the best total night viewership in the series’ history.
The episode also marked an 18 percent bump over the previous season finale.

At 10 p.m., the Season 3 finale of “House of Lies” drew 731,000 total viewers, and 1.4 million overall for the night.
The latter number is a best total-night number for finales for the shows, a 16 percent improvement over last season's finale.
