Stephen Hawking Romance ‘Theory of Everything’ Gets Release Date

“Theory of Everything,” a romantic drama about Stephen Hawking, will open in limited release in the U.S. on Nov. 7, Focus Features said Thursday.

James Marsh (“Man on a Wire”) directs the drama about the famed physicist as a young man, who will be played by Eddie Redmayne (“Les Miserables), and his relationship with art student Jane Wilde (Felicity Jones). The movie is based on Wilde's memoir, “Traveling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen.” Emily Watson and David Thewlis co-star.

The date puts it in the heart of awards season, and Focus said it plans to expand the film in successive weeks.

It's produced by Lisa Bruce and Working Title co-chairs Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, along with screenwriter Anthony McCarten.
