One of the late Paul Walker’s final movies, “Hours,” rolls out Friday in 16 theaters and on video on demand, and distributor Pantelion will donate portions of the box office and VOD sales to the late actor’s charity Reach Out Worldwide.

“Hours” was completed months before the Nov. 30 crash that took Walker’s life. It played at South by Southwest and other film festivals and has earned solid reviews.

It finds Walker as the father of a newborn who finds himself stranded in New Orleans as Hurricane Katrina arrives and the city’s levees fail. The part was demanding and required the late actor to be on-screen for nearly all of the film’s running time.

Genesis Rodriguez co-stars in the film, which was written and directed by Eric Heisserer.  Peter Safran produced.

In addition to “Fast & Furious 7,” which was mid-way through shooting when Walker died, the actor will appear in the action film “Brick Mansions.” That picture is in post-production and Walker’s work was finished.

Pantelion is a joint venture between Lionsgate and Mexican TV giant Televisa.

Universal said it will donate a percentage of “Fast & Furious 6″ home entertainment revenue to the late actor’s charity. The studio shut down production on “Fast & Furious 7″ indefinitely to mourn Walker’s death and determine the best course of action for the next installment in the lucrative franchise.
