Capitol Hill veterans Patrick Kilcur and Ben Staub have joined the staff of the Motion Picture Association of America, the organization said Monday.
Kilcur will be a vice president and Staug will be director of government and regulatory affairs. They will be responsible primarily for MPAA advocacy before Congress. Both will report to Neil Fried, senior vice president, government and regulatory affairs.
“We are very excited to have Patrick and Ben on board,” said Michael O’Leary, senior executive vice president, global policy and external affairs. “We look forward to incorporating their expertise into our work promoting creativity and economic growth through respect for intellectual property rights.”

“Patrick has spent the last five years as a Senate Floor staffer, most recently for Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY),” said Fried. “His experience helping to negotiate legislative matters in the Senate will serve our association members well.
“We are similarly excited to have Ben join our team,” Fried continued. “Ben has close to six years of copyright and competition policy experience working for the House Judiciary Committee, starting in the 110th Congress under then-Chairman John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI). His depth of copyright knowledge will be invaluable as Congress conducts its review of the Copyright Act.”
