Sylvester Stallone has been named the guest of honor for the 9th annual Acapulco International Film Festival’s opening night gala, which will feature the Mexico premiere of Stallone’s latest cinematic adventure, “Grudge Match.”
The red carpet movie premiere will take place on Jan. 24 in The Forum of Mundo Imperial.

Stallone is no stranger to the country south of our border, where he has made several films, and even shot “Rambo” on location in Acapulco.
“People know him and for him it is an honor to return to Mexico and specifically Acapulco and to return some of the affection that the people of Mexico have always bestowed on him,” the festival’s director, Victor Sotomayor, said in a statement.
